The New Hanover County Library, located in New Hanover County, North Carolina, is a public library system consisting of four branches:

The library system offers a variety of resources and services to the community, including books, audio books, videos, and DVDs, which can be checked out free of charge with a library card. Library cardholders can borrow up to 25 items at a time, each of which can be kept for three weeks. The library also provides access to public computers, free Wi-Fi, fax, printing, and copying services.
In addition to these services, the library offers meeting room rentals, local historical documents, consumer health information, a public law library, and several free monthly book clubs. The library also offers a range of digital resources, such as the Library of Things, which allows users to borrow items like musical instruments, kitchen appliances, and tools, and the eLibrary, which provides access to streaming videos, eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines. The library subscribes to a variety of databases, including trial access, which can be accessed through its website.
The New Hanover County Library is governed by a Library Advisory Board, which consists of 12 members appointed by the New Hanover County Commissioners for a three-year term. The board is responsible for recommending policies for the operation of the library and for making recommendations concerning library capital projects in accordance with the needs of the community.
The Library Foundation of New Hanover County was established in 2005 as a fund-raising organization to augment the needs of the library.
The foundation accepts gifts such as monetary donations, bequests by will or living trust, stocks, bonds or other investments, beneficiary designations from life insurance policies, IRAs and other retirement plans, life income gifts, and memorial and honorary gifts.
