The City of Southport is excited to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for professional abatement services at the historic former City Hall building located at 201 E. Moore Street.
It is inviting qualified contractors to submit their proposals for handling asbestos-containing, mold-impacted, and lead-contained materials within this significant structure.
Constructed in 1854, the building originally served as the County Courthouse and spans approximately 8,500 square feet. It holds a prestigious place on the National Register of Historic Places, underscoring its importance to our community and heritage. This project is not only about preserving a building but also about maintaining a vital piece of Southport’s history.
All proposed work must comply with federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the highest standards of safety and preservation.
