Wilmington Police Investigate Early Morning Stabbing Incident

Wilmington, NC – May 26, 2024:

In the early hours of Sunday morning, the Wilmington Police Department (WPD) responded to a violent altercation on Princess Street that resulted in a stabbing. Officers were monitoring crowds in the 0 block of Princess Street around 2:45 a.m. when a fight involving multiple individuals erupted nearby.

Police officers swiftly intervened and managed to disperse the crowd and de-escalate the situation. However, shortly after breaking up the initial fight, a second confrontation occurred close by. Officers again intervened to break up this subsequent dispute.

Following an initial investigation, authorities discovered that a female victim had been stabbed during one of the altercations. She was transported to the hospital by a friend and is currently in stable condition.
